Canadian web host FullHost has released an AI tool that builds working websites and web apps from plain-language prompts. Once a project is finished, though, it doesn’t leave the country: everything stays on servers inside Canada.
The product, called AI Studio, skips the usual drag-and-drop builder entirely. Instead, a user types a description of what they want, whether a booking system, an online store, or a client portal, and the platform writes the code and deploys a live version in seconds. Changes work the same way. Say “make the header sticky” or “add a French version,” and the app rebuilds itself on the spot. Because of this, FullHost says businesses running old, clunky sites can point the tool at them and get a modern, mobile-friendly rebuild in a fraction of the usual time.
What really sets this launch apart, though, is where the finished work ends up. Most competitors, after all, host generated projects on servers based mainly in the U.S., which means a Canadian business’s data can fall under American law no matter who is using the site or where they’re located. FullHost, by contrast, publishes every AI Studio project to its own data centres in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Montreal, all running on renewable power.
“You describe what you want and get working software with real logic, forms, and payments, live in seconds,” said Nico Ohlmann, FullHost’s CEO and co-founder, describing the workflow. Still, he added, the real difference shows up after launch, since the finished product stays on Canadian infrastructure instead of moving offshore the moment it goes live.
As for use cases, the tool covers a fairly wide range: appointment booking for clinics, ordering systems for restaurants, event pages with payment collection, and internal tools like inventory trackers. In each case, none of it requires writing a line of code.
Overall, data sovereignty has become a bigger talking point among Canadian tech firms over the past couple of years, as more companies weigh where their customer information physically sits. That’s why FullHost is betting that pairing AI-generated software with a domestic hosting guarantee gives it an edge that U.S.-anchored competitors can’t easily match.
