Your thoughts on my song - I've asked someone new to be my wife

One of my friends in Utah asked me to write this song.
Lyrics:
You know when I lost you
I thought my life was through
I cried and I cried and as hard as I tried
I couldn't get over you

Not having you here with me
Missing how our lives used to be
You have to know how much I loved you
That I never stopped loving you

But after a river of tears
After all of these years
It was time to move on with my life
I've asked someone new to be my wife

I know with all my heart and soul
You'd want me to be happy and so
While I'm not forgetting you
I pray this is what you want for me too

Opening my heart once again to love
With you cheering me on from above
You're the angel on my shoulder guiding my hand
Knowing you'd want me to love again

So after a river of tears
After all of these years
I'm moving on with my life
I've asked someone new to be my wife

I know with all my heart and soul
You'd want me to be happy and so
While I'm not forgetting you
I pray this is what you want for me too

So after a river of tears
After all of these years
I'm moving on with my life
I've asked someone new to be my wife

🎶I hope you like it.

Your honest opinion please.

It is very far from my culture but it completely defines the perception that music is universal. I sensed oriental melodies and I liked them very much.

Heartfelt and touching lyrics. Beautifully express grief, healing, and moving on while honoring a loved one's memory. A little more variation in the repeated lines could make them even stronger, but overall it's a sincere and relatable song. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I really appreciate that. Music has always fascinated me because it can cross cultures and still connect with people through emotion. I'm glad it resonated with you, and it's interesting that you heard oriental influences in it.

Thank you for taking the time to read it and for the thoughtful feedback. I appreciate the suggestion about adding more variation in the repeated chorus. That's something I'll definitely think about as I continue refining it. I'm glad the overall message came through.
