Working with Family: How Do You Keep Business and Personal Life Separate?

Running a family business can be both rewarding and challenging. While working with loved ones can strengthen bonds, it can also blur the lines between personal and professional life. Striking the right balance is key to long-term success.

How do you make sure business issues don’t carry over into family time?

oh goodness. I did this with my brother, sister and brother in law when I first started. All don't work for me anymore. Just didnt work out well. For eg. We had some issues about work ethic and how much effort they put in. Also one of them would say they sick but then you would find out they went out somewhere and that would anger you. Salary increases and november bonus time was the worst. If they didnt get what they wanted or just expected more you would have some side-eye issues and them being "different" with you which would take a lot of time to get over.

I think it comes down to trust and if they are good as people to put in all the effort that they should.

From now on I dont work with any family except my wife.
