Why I can't stand 'slick' designs for webhost sites

My site I think posts decent info, but doesn't get TOO techie with the info presented, so as to confuse potential newbies that may stumble onto the site. I'm available easily via e-mail (right at the top of the page) or usually Live Chat for those that need more guidance.

I like your website. Good content and catches my eye.

Personally I think a good looking website is a must, but with the added content. Good content with a poor website wont work, and vice versa.

I think there is a fine line in design, Not over powering but not too outhere type.

Overpowering
- Take the eye, Full of colours and heaps bright can be a deterrrence to many, Making is simple but still stylish can go a whole lot way more than one of the same but super empowered.

No Too Out There - Excellent, Perfect, Catches the eye without having to blur you in the face. Has it's own style and is elegant and graceful.

Don't Go There - These sites I would move on from, Shows less enthusiasm. Information seems to be all cramped and all in different spots. Turn off for me.

So I would think and easy going site, NON FLASH, Something that gives the OOMPH but not too much of an OOMPH can be quite good.

A website does not need to be 'fancy' or 'sleek' imho. A workable and trustworthy website is one that is decent looking, not too over the top, everything is neat and in the right place, no tiny little * everywhere to hide conditions.

Nobody choose host by seeing the design only. I have my experience in sales so I know that client confirms everything whatever he can. But some are there who check only price so they get package in low price and after that it comes to know that theplan they taken is not appropriate for them.
