Why are there so few women in hosting?

I dont think woman have the patience and/or want to waste their time with the computer. I know that when I use my computer for more than about 2 hours straight at home, my girlfriend gets on my back and starts chewing me out saying I spend more time on the computer than I do with her. I'm sure all you guys out there get this too [/B]

Oh I couldn't leave this one alone, DH is a huge TV addict and did the typical uh huh stuff when I wanted to talk. Well now we have no TV. Lately due to server issues I have been so tied up in the computer that he gets it from me now.

He came into the kitchen last night and said something to me and I made a comment about not knowing and he said to me and I quote.

" I just told you that 20 minutes ago, weren't you listening. Waaah!!!"

I kid you not, I busted a gut laughing so hard. I love the computer and can stay on it for hours but usually I can hold conversation at the same time until this last week. :)

So it isn't just you guys that have the market it that, but I will conceed most gals aren't big time gamers, until SIMS then I think more women got into it, I still have never seen that game though. My extent of gaming is Solitaire played a 100 different ways.

I do love coding though and so when I am not busy I try to learn new ways to code and learning all I can about CSS, PHP and SSI.

heres a womans perspective:
there is a huge percentage of us that are not very technically and mechanically inclined. learning all of this information can be so mind boggling. there are a lot of women that just plain dont care about all of this. hey, as long as it works and its there, thats all i care about. thats the attitude a lot of people have. then there are some that try to learn, but the people they try to learn from get frustrated and dont have the patience to teach another.

i personally am very fascinated by all of this. when loren talks to me about stuff that hes doing, i ask a lot of questions. same with when i used to talk to a mutual friend of ours. i asked a lot of questions and kept on it til i understood.

im never going to own an industry or anything, but it would be awesome to understand enough to be able to help out a company. i loove learning new things. i absolutley love it. soo yea.

you can only learn if you want to. :D

personally I think it could have something to do with PMS. I wouldn't want any woman touching my servers, computers, or laptops when they are pmsing, one wrong thing from that computer and it is toast! :p

Also we still have women trying to strighten other things out, ummm abotion stuff, equal rights, the soon to be put in effect new draft things.

So they are naturaly doing other odd thins like shopping for cloths -.-

PMS?!?!? you have GOT to be kidding me. no no no. look how i get when i pms. my computer is still put together. i havent killed it yet lol.

women know how they get when they pms. if theyre working with something like that, im sure they would know to take some midol before going to work. either that or get put on a mood stabalizer lol.

and uhm we dont just shop for clothes, thank you very much. and we dont just do abortion crap, legal rights, and stuff like that. there are very successful women. psychologists, politicians, military, and so much more but i dont feel like taking the time to show you all the different examples.

a lot of women are about more than just shopping. some of us actually try to make a career. and some women hate being stereotyped by all the male chauvinistic (sp?) pigs out there that think we're only good for shopping, making dinner, and sex -.-
