Whose with the Planet?

I've never heard of this company - what kind of services do they provide? I've only heard of standard names really. Then again I am new to hosting sites and whatnaught.

To tell you the truth when I saw "The Planet" for the first time in the forum, I thought it was a thread based on supporting saving the Earth type of deal.

We've had a dedicated server there running a monitoring node for a long time and have no complaints.. its been rock steady and I don't recall ever having a problem with the server or the company. :thumbup:

Judging by traceroute, it seems to be Houston.

I have a long long time ago and its nothing against them now, I just need my "babies" closer to me. I met some cool TP workers too at some random conf I went down and saw, too bad I don't remember the name of it, but yes they have good service and awesome workers (some who party pretty hard during non work hours).

Could you explain the difference - or is it exactly how it sounds? Shared as in both me and you share the same server type of deal?

Well let's see. Siteground and Host Gatpr uses The Planet. I remember asking the for a shared package and they told me to go to Host Gator as a matter of fact.

Alot of people go to The Planet becuase of the level they operate. Everyone tries to be so 100% technical but there may be a psychological factor involved being that you are operating on a higher level with a server hosted the Planet.
