Who makes the fastest servers

I think Intel® Core™ i7-3930K Hexa-Core. 64Gb RAM. 3TB HDD. Really fast for me.

It's fast, but it's no server hardware, it's build for desktops.
I would go for an Dell system instead like a lot of other people have advised in this thread!

All the severs above will be just as fast as a typical desktop computer if hosting a single small site

This thread set me thinking about server benchmarking, but decided to post another thread rather than possibly dragging this one off topic

In particular, benchmarking answers the question "how fast is this new server?". While the numbers are meaningless in themselves, a higher or a lower number gives some sort of measure of comparison.

For web hosting benchmarking is a waste of time and money. Get the best server you can afford and if that turns out to be too weak get a better one when its time

We use a lot of supermicro hardware. It is very nice to be able to build out to meet custom needs.
