Many thousands of people use it, just not so many "newbie" hosts or hostee's :crazy2: You can restore a tar on pretty much anything - the "secret" is simply knowing where to put the files. And *most* control panel authors have tools to migrate from one to another - it's a large part of theri business for some ... HTH
