Gotta go cPanel, but you have to make sure you secure your servers unless you want to risk massive security holes that cPanel can leave open

Many thousands of people use it, just not so many "newbie" hosts or hostee's :crazy2:

You can restore a tar on pretty much anything - the "secret" is simply knowing where to put the files.

And *most* control panel authors have tools to migrate from one to another - it's a large part of theri business for some ... HTH
