Which location do you prefer for a VPS in USA?

The two favourites of mine are Chicago and Dallas. They seem to be the best in terms of connectivity and latency. Amsterdam is especially good if you're looking for a EU location
 
It is very important to see where your traffic go through and major customer requirement. there is no point to select a dc which is tier 4 rank, but network might give you longer latency.
 
Central US (Chicago / Dallas) would be my first choice, assuming what is being hosted wasn't meant to service a majority in a specific location that was latency sensitive.
 
I'm an East Coast person as well. I see a lot of providers offer in Scranton PA, which is where I live. Always got me wondering if they are talking about Burst.net which again is only a stones throw away from me.
 
Burst.net is a big provider on the East Coast, yes. A lot of activity starts on the East... Dallas/Chicago is popular because it's cheap.
 
Chicago does seem to have a better connection to the UK than Dallas based on our own tests. We may be launching servers in that area shortly.
