What to do when your host disappears?

PerfectNumber: What was your domain name, username, firstname that was supposively registered with Vovex??? I would love to run a check on it for you.

Jonathan, looks like you did show up. Sorry for that late response to your late reponse. First off sorry about your circumstances. Life can twist things up.

As far as this fiasco goes, you may be right about the email that was sent to me being a fake, well since I really did get it, more likely a fake identity. If is was a fake, then surely it came from none other than Billy Engler, but it did come from and I replied to sales@vovex.com. The Primary Hostname - zion.vovex.net

But regardless of circumstances or of who sent the email, I was hosted on a Vovex server for about a week or two. vitwmedia.org, you shouldn't need anything else if you want to run a "check" and owned the company.

Vovex did go out of business. That speaks enough, so don't tell me about "talking ****, go right ahead... ", or "Get your facts straight.", or "If you are gonna make up stories at least make one that is legit. " I'm not the one out of business and disappointing my customers.

I didn't trip myself up in the least. If you took a little time to actually read the posts you would have noticed that I say quite plainly...

"Oh yeah, Billy used Rackshack I think for a while, and TMS or Tailor Made Servers. He siad they, TMS, were the culprit. He used someone else too, I think it was HE at the end."

And understand that Billy wasn't always on your server and therefore your datacenter. Were you down at the end of October for 3-4 days? He was. And more, but...

So don't tell me "So which one is it perfect>?? Get your facts straight." Please don't try to use the illogical logic of a misinformed child to argue points with me.

As further veracity of your inability to read carefully... You stated
"We don't even have a stock option because we are not a corporation... we are an LLC." in response to part of the email I receieved from vovex.com, in particular, I received and posted "He (Billy Engler) is affiliated with us in that he has "stock" in us." Please note the quotations surrounding stock. I believe convention is that this means "stock" is a loose fit to the reality of the situation.

Please understand I don't care, I don't care about vitwmedia.org, the money, or anything about vovex. Your company is only in this thread because I ended up there with a domain I didn't care about and because one of you resellers was on your server. I wasn't there more than two weeks.

As I've stated, my situation is completely cool, I've got a great host. What I do care about is possibly helping others understand that there are many things that one must consider when choosing a host. I've gotten some nice solutions from people on this message. I haven't gotten any solutions from you at all.

Choosing a host means actually doing your homework, asking questions, and paying monthly helps.

One thing Jonathan, you stated "And we did post on our forum in the updates section 5 days prior to the boxes going down to let you know as early as possible." Do you really think that 5 days is enough time to find another host, and move your site over. Hell, it takes sometimes 2 days just for the Name Server change to propagate.

One thing you really need to understand about my posts and Vovex is that I'm not even badmouthing Vovex nearly as much as Billy Engler and his two bit operations.

My problem with you telling me that the emails sent to me are fakes is that I replied to the first email and received a response. The address I replied to was sales@vovex.com.

Good luck with your future,
Scott

Here's the email from vovex, complete with header, regardless of if it actually came from Billy or you:

Perfect Number : sorry for the jump on the gun there. I may not of understood the way you were wording things. Thanks for clearing things up. Sounds like one of my resellers tried to shurg off their responsibility onto me... oh well.
