What do you consider most in choosing a web hosting service?

1. storage space
2. monthly transfer
3. uptime
4. reliability
5. price

All the above mentioned will fulfill my requirement. I'm not really particular about the pricing.

This is very true, I'd keep a look out for the pricing if I was you and then you'll be fine. Just dont wanna get ripped off. Keep your eye out and you should get something for a good price. But dont go for something "OVERLY" cheap but if you do expect downtime gallore. :)

Well, in general there are some aspects to consider in choosing a web hosting service:
1. storage space
2. monthly transfer
3. uptime
4. reliability
5. price

Amongst those factors, which one do you consider most?

Hello webster,

All the above mentioned factors should be considered along with the most important one 'support'. The Price, Storage space and monthly transfer depends upon the customer's needs. The reliability, uptime and support are the factors that decide the reputation. Good live support, better reliability and less downtime should be the main factors taken into consideration while choosing a host. Go through the forum reviews to get an idea about these things.

Ago year I haven´t got server.. I went on webhosting.. I used hostgator, but they services aren´t good - slow server, but uptime is good..

I assume that is not unique and each web host have it

Good thread, my question would be, does having a website builder influence your choice? Do you even use such a feature? If not, would you still go with a host that had it, over a host that didn't have it just in case?

Uptime is very crucial. The reason being, a site having good traffic can easily lose its traffic if the site is down for more amount of time. Most of the hosting services have their servers down many times, thus causing drop in traffic to the sites they host.

This is why bigger sites move to dedicated hosting, than shared ones.
