What cell phone do you own?
Most people have a cell these days so just post what phone you have, you can link to a pic of it if you want for people that don’t know what it looks like.

I have a 3330 nokia

I have a samsung a800.
Very small and light phone, that's the reason I got it.
Really don't like having anything heavy in my pockets.
Still haven't seen a smaller phone, if I do see a smaller one I would go for that, only if it was lighter too though.

That's the reason I wouldn't go for a camera phone, they weigh far too much I think

I use the Sanyo 8100 w/Sprint PCS service.. I must say I am very happy with the clarity and the Internet service that I receive. I use it for all sorts of things including my SMS phone! Who says you can't have true 24/7 support!

I have a Nokia 3510i. Since I started training I've come to the conclusion that it is far to heavy. I'm thinking about getting me a smaller and more lightweight phone which I can run with, and not notice to much.

I'm sporting the Nokia Ghetto 3000 model, aha acutally its the Nokia 3285 model.. not a big fan of it, but what can ya do..

I have the Samsung VGA 1000, which I use through Sprint. I really wanted to get the Sanyo like someone else posted above. Just because it had a little stronger reception.

However this phone seems to get the job done. I only got it for $100 (Normally $250) from the Srpint dealer. The sales rep told me the wrong price, then decided to honor it at the checkout.

Sprint seems to be a rather good company in my area. I am on the Nationwide PCS plan with 1000 minutes and unlimited night and weekends for $50 or so. Not a bad deal at all.

My mobile is pay as you go, don't really like having a contract phone, I know I would end up running up a huge bill, don't like the idea of that ;)

Calls cost more on pay as you go over contract and you have to pay more for the phone but still like having control of how much I spend on my phone and knowing how much I used already.

Currently, I have a Nokia 3410. It's an average phone, and gets the job done, most of the time. I'm on Pay as You Go with SFR, a French network which is the equivalent to Vodafone.

My next phone is going to be a clamshell, as it can be very annoying when you don't lock your keypad, and you accidently call someone without even realising it. My next phone, hopefully, will be a Sony Ericsson Z1010, if they ever release it.

[ More info on Z1010... ]

The Z1010 was announced a long time ago, yet is still to be released. In all, it seems like a nice phone - but obviously we'll see once it's finally released.
The only thing I do not like about the Z1010 is that it is dual-band, and not tri-band; other than that, from what I've read and from what I've seen in photos and so on, it will certainly do very well for what I need done.

When I get the Sony Ericsson Z1010, I also plan to change networks and go with Orange Pro, it's a special package with Orange in France which allows you to call anyone anywhere in the world from your contract. For example, with the contract Orange Pro, I'd be able to call someone in France, Russia, America, send some text messages to people in France, England and China as well as surf the net - and it'd all come out of my contract which is very handy. However I'd have three contracts: standard contract which allows everything, then a €9 text message contract and then a €6 Internet contract. Meaning in total, I'm not paying too much - yet am receiving quite a bit; especially the fact that the prices of text messages in France has just come down.

Forgot to mention, my pay as you go phone also comes with 300 free text messages per month.
One of the reasons I got that tarrif, sometimes it's a lot easier to send a quick message rather than phone, especially when you are in a situation that you can't really make or receive a phone call.

Anjay, doesn't all tarrifs and networks let you phone and text people anywhere in the world?

Something I think is kind of funny...yet stupid...It costs me 20p to text someone in the states, but it costs 35p to text someone in the South of Ireland, which starts at just 50 or so miles away from me

Yes, it is. That's why I plan to get a text message contract when I get my new phone.

Hi there. Notice I'm back huh? Now I'm back for good. ;)
What I meant was, with that specific contract, it all comes included. With the majority of contract plans, you can only make national calls with your contract - but anything international is out of your contract. For example, with a normal contract for say £20, you can call and send text messages to anyone in the U.K. for the worth of up to £20; however if you send say a text message to France, it won't come off of your contract and you need to pay extra off of your credit card.

Hey Anjay,
Yeah I noticed, great to have you back with us :D
I love your posts so hoping to see more of the same like before ;)

The contracts in France must be different than here, normally here you pay line rental, some plans come with free calls, or free messages, but all other calls and messages are paid separately.
With your contract, do you mean that the national calls are included free with your line rental? Or that you can only make calls and text people up to £20?

Some people put a limit on their phones, but I don't think they work very well. Saw something on TV where people had limits on the phone of maybe up to £30/month and they ended up with bills way over it.
It was happening with all networks and some have actually stopped offering it since it was causing more problems than it solved.

Thanks. :)
Don't worry, many more posts like before coming up. ;)

Say, for example, you have a standard contract which costs you say £20 per month. With this, you'd be able to make phone calls and send text messages to anyone in France up to the worth of £20.
With the Orange Pro package, for say £30 per month, you'll be able to call and send text messages to anyone in France or any other country for up to the worth of £30. The only package I prefer here in France is the Orange Pro package, as really you get more bang for your buck; otherwise in regards to the normal packages, it's actually much cheaper in the U.K. than here in France, which I think is due to the fact more people in the U.K. have mobile phones than people here in France.

In France, one network (SFR) has that. Let's say you have chosen your limit as £30 per month: You then make phone calls, and send text messages, etc., and once you get to that £30 limit - you cannot make anymore phone calls or send anymore text messages. However, then you are able to purchase Pay As You Go cards and top-up your credit to make more calls and send more texts.

I don't have a cell phone. I don't need one.

I would love not to need one, can't live without mine now.
Use it everyday, far too much. Find myself checking it all the time, normally a few messages (Voice and text) everytime I do check too

I remember that was on BBC news here but then it was found that it wasn't the case.
Maybe it is coming up again because it says that was updated on 27th June.
Even though the claims were found to be unfounded before, I am still a bit cautious about my mobile.
I do "move it away" when I get a message or something, even if I am not going to read it straight away.
Guess it will always be in the back of my mind.

But think back to when people wore metal jackets when sitting infront of computer screens because they thought it had high levels of radiation, they do have very low levels, but nothing close to what people used to think when they were newer.
