What billing system do you use?

Just found this thread, read through it, and it seems like there's a clear trend from CE to WHMCS. We use CE, though, and have not switched because it basically works, and we've made it look more like we want it to.

I am using WHMCS and yeah i tried to use clientexec but i didn't know about it . Yeah WHMCS is good and best billing system.

We use modern bill.. Sometimes, it creates some invoice with wrong ballances.. If you have more than 500 customer, it may be hard to manage.. but otherwise, it is easy to use

For us we use an custom built system which works great!.

As for those that say WHMCS, please keep in mind that your allowing your staff to protentially steal your clients information. You get a staff member who is angry, logs in trys peoples email and password in paypal or something and bamm.. Money being stolen!.

I was an ClientExec fan before.

In any business you run the risk of your staff potentially stealing money, stealing information or stealing inventory. It is important for management to be aware of trends and suspicious activity, however just as you would give a key to a staff member to open shop in the morning, you TRUST them to not do anything crazy. Same in the online business.

Those you don't trust, you don't give them access, and for that matter, do not associate with EVER.

WHMCS is a great product, and while inhouse solutions can be just as good, and sometimes better, WHMCS is a far superioir product to most that are on the market.

In the past, I have used Modernbill v4 and WHMCS. By large numbers, I think the best billing system is the one you make yourself as it does exactly what your customers and you want.

Some of the stuff on the market is bloated and too overwhelming!

Using a proprietary billing system developed in house.. has a lot of issues but apparently can't stray from it as its heavily tied together with our website. I'm trying to lobby my company to redo everything..

on a separate note, how often do you think a hosting company should change the look and layout of their website and/or do a complete overhaul?

Another happy WHMCS hosting provider here as well, although we chose to provide ClientExec to our resellers for many reasons, which is a good script as well.

I support WHMCS all the way. However, have any of you had challenges when it came to promotional schemes? I know the big one would be offering free extra months of hosting upon signup.

Our company uses WHMCS. We've tried ClientExec, and we didn't like it as much as we liked WHMCS. Because of its user-friendliness, power and its easiness to customize, we've never looked back since then.
