What advertisement methods you use?

Sometimes, living on the Internet like we do, I think we forget about the tried and true "real" world advertising tools. I don't just mean print ads, tv and radio, which really don't tend to work too well (at least in my opinion) unless you're willing to sink serious money into them. I'm talking about the more guerrilla stuff: post fliers on bulletin boards, drop business cards wherever you can (Starbucks and Panera bread have both worked for me), put a bumper sticker on your car, etc. I've also found success with more traditional "real" world methods like the local Chamber of Commerce and sponsoring local events. One fun and cheap idea is to sponsor kids car washes or lemonade stands. It's cute, cheap and fun on a Saturday afternoon. Though, maybe not so much in winter.

What advertisement methods you use when promoting your company?
For me it's the following,

1. Forums and Blogs
2. Google Adwords (#1 i use)
3. Link buliding and general SEO optimization
4. Try to consult private companies or customers.

I agree, these are the best methods...:smash:

Measure your marketing methods

There are many methods mentioned in this thread about marketing. Many good ideas with SEO, outbound calling. Regardless of which marketing methods you use, two areas will make you very successful: (1) measuring you marketing metrics, weekly, monthly, etc... - This is critical so that you don't waste money - burning money is too easy on the advertising side. (2) Followup, followup, followup, it may be old school, but take a list of "x" prospects, and use outbound calling at regular intervals, mixed with regular email and US mail marketing messages.

Works nice for us!:) <URL snipped>

You mean like facebook? I got facebook ads didn't do anything really not even one customer.

I think the remark about FB was directed towards a "fan page" rather than actually advertising with them, although you could do both.. A fan page is free :)

AdWords as mentioned is really recommended because by checking out the Google stats, you would find a lot of the No.1 companies and sites still using the paid advertising solution because many times the real customers and potential buyers would tend clicking on the ads and visiting the main pages.

We use a variety of avenues.

- Google Adwords: If you can use very specific keywords your costs will drop accordingly and you'll get better results.

- Facebook: Great ad network if you have a healthy presence there. Every company should have a Facebook page.

- Twitter: A good twitter presence will help with damage control, will help you engage your customers, and will allow you a free avenue to advertise.

- Banner Ads: We have banner ads on several hosting sites, this is expensive but great for branding.

- Forums: We get a lot of business from forums, these are great resources for established and fledgling companies alike.

I almost do the same methods that you use when I promote my website business. I use more text links in my website to allow back linking and indexing of keywords in search engines, I post on forums and blogs and market my site by putting it in the directories submission.

I try to get link from related sites, use forums and related blogs and of cos building links and general SEO optimization
