OK ... I admit it ... again. I am an idiot. :dknow:

I went to www.checkpr.net via a link in someones signature on a whim ... and entered my website URL.

Below are the results.

PageRank 4
Alexa Rank 1,151,357
Back Links 2,634
MSN Search Results 1,454
Yahoo! Search Results 2,840

Can someone tell me if these are good??? bad??? or mediocre?? scores or ranks or whatever they are? I guess I should mention that the site has been online for a number of years ... but I have never advertised except putting a link to it in my signature. Don't think I have ever submitted it manually to a search engine ... but ... I could be wrong about that one. :dknow: Dunno ... don't remember.

Thanks for any insight
Peter

Considering the efforts that you have put in the ranking of the site, I think that the scores are good enough. You can always improve these scores by following the white hat SEO techniques.

OK thanks for your input(s) ... appreciated.

Is there a site that might explain what kind of numbers I should be aiming for??? Or ... describes what the numbers or ranks specifically mean???

Like ... scores in sports ... baseball & football ... higher is better

In Golf ... lower is better

That kind of thing
Thanks
Peter

PS ... another stupid question ... "white hat SEO techniques"???? HUH????

PageRank 4
The higher is better. Maximum is 10. Pagerank is used by Google in its ranking algorithm. PR4 is decent for a site like yours (I see it as a niche site).

Not great, but it doesn't really matter to you. It's just an estimate of your traffic, and you actually know your real traffic. :)

The other numbers don't verify, or maybe I misunderstand their meaning, so I won't comment on them.
