VPS tips, tricks and cheap hosts.

XEN can be oversell by Abusive clients :)

If you get few abusive clients then they can affect others ..

any server abuse will affect other clients, but if you have your server configured correctly then any server abuse should be picked up as it starts therefore minimising any problems that affect other users.

Going to have to defend OpenVZ as well. I've had many hosts in the past who used OpenVZ as their VPS platform, and they managed their nodes just fine. If too many high usage containers ended up on a node they just live migrate them over to lower usage boxes.

Failure to manage load on the boxes is more of an issue.

There's nothing you can do if the host OS crashes even in Xen the entire box is going down.

a good host will do this, their are too many people will jump down the throats of any host using OpenVZ saying they oversell and its unreliable.

Not always OpenVZ VPS hosting is bad or/and oversold. If you have a good hardware with good I/O performance you can make a good VPS offers and maintain good quality of the services.

Centos 6 does not support Xen. am i right?

this is correct so far, some other 3rd party scripts are stil not compatible with CentOS 6 at the moment.

I also know that at the moment cpanel still supports frontpage extensions, but this will not work in CentOS 6, but will still work in all versions of CentOS before 6
