This happens to be my first post on this board, and I totally already feel at home after reading this! I've been on "another board" and it's definitely NOT comprised of people like us - they're always crying about the $3 they have to spend per month, and how someone else has it for .75 a month.

People seriously just don't seem to care anymore if they have quality equipment hosting their site or not. It's so easy these days for someone to get a web site, get a 99$ server from EV1, and all of a sudden they're competition to ME, with 100X+ more invested! I am sure many of you feel the same.

Anyway, great board, great post, rock on!

That is so true...

I am speaking from the customer point of view who has received a cheap package that failed to live up to the expectations and was about to fall for another one if i havent found a huge array of bad commentary on them in many webhost discussion forums...

The first time i was not looking for a cheap price,a friend recoomended them to me and beaing cheap was a plus..What happened was simple : i had huge downtime with forum members complaining,i got blamed for some security compromisations which where actually the webhosts fault (the exploit used targeted programmes he used to run server and not programms i installed) and finally he did a run when his debt amounted to several thousand dollars..

I completely feel for legitimate webhosting bussnesses...Let me tell you something: i dont have a bussiness of any kind but havign an online community is something i REALLY like! I checked out some webhosting packages people in here offer in their signatures and i found them reasonable (and yes, my salary is not huge nor my budget is unlimited since i havent found yet that tree that grows money instead of fruit!).I hope scammers wont ruin their bussiness...What i am after as a customer is reliable uptime,honesty and reliable support on my part and what i provide is ofcourse payments of the correct amount in the agrred time,reasonable approach to any problems encountered (after all companies are run by people that can make mistakes sometimes) and not cluttering them with tickets all the time or having crazy expectations...I dont know if what i say i am is the average customer ,but i dont see why it shouldnt work if both parts do their part nice,honest and in a reasonable manner!

0.75 or 3 a month...Prices like that and their low quality is something that ruins it for people that love their website (professional or not) and the busnesses that fill this need...
