Things to consider in choosing a Web Host

As with every product or service, you have to trust someone eventually if you want to buy something. That's why brands are so important. Many people stick to brand names because they know what they're getting for the money. In this economy trust/sales are harder to get if you're a new company because people spend less. So I guess my point is, that yes, you should be careful when choosing a webhost, but nitpicking and the aggressive big brand names shouldn't keep you from trying new services. You may end up missing out. :)

I totally agree and to Christiano

You should also consider the experience of the web host. Since you do no want to end up subscribing to any new host which may shut down after couple of months.

It is important that a host has been in business for two or more years to for users to be able to trust the provider.

where you not once a NEW business less than 2 years old at some point. my point is every business has to start somewhere, so if everyone never trusted a business less than 2 years old then their would of been no Amazon, eBay, Microsoft, HD etc. as these were all new businesses at one point.

How about age of the company?
Even new businesses need to start somewhere and if you did not use new companies then NO business no matter what it was would not exist
Online reviews?
Take with a pinch of salt as sopme hosts will fake these.
Quality of Service?
you can only judge this by using their services
Nothing is more frustrating than signing up with a company only to find out they have no clue what they're doing,s all to often.
Research a host, ask simple questions any host should know through support ticket, live chat (if they have any) and email.
this also judges how quick they respond

I agree with you 100%. The best way to choose reliable company is ask them questions via live chat, because i have had situation when admin couldn't tell me anything about what i was asking, so how can i order their services if i don't no anything about the product i want to buy.

How about age of the company? Online reviews? Quality of Service? Nothing is more frustrating than signing up with a company only to find out they have no clue what they're doing, and believe me - it happens all to often.

Yes , that is true. But for me, I do not really depend much on online reviews since some are not real customer reviews.

Fortunately web hosting is relatively cheap and there is no financial risk to speak of by just trying someone out. Its not like buying a car or appliance. It doesn't make sense spending days or weeks researching hosts when most hosts are fungible
