The hidden costs of hosting service

I encounter numerous complaints daily regarding hidden hosting costs, such as fees for activating backup features, transferring services between users within the same provider, and more. However, the most unusual charge I've come across is a fee for resending login information for the hosting control panel.
What’s the strangest hidden cost you have ever encountered?

Hi GreenHost,

Are you referring to the hidden costs of operations or the hidden fees that a hosting provider would have upon their customers? As a host, I would think you're asking about internal operations.

Can you explain further on your thoughts of this?

Yes, The hidden fees providers impose on their users are a common complaint we encounter daily.

As I am assuming you are asking the hidden costs of shared hosting not from internal operations. So, in my experience I never experienced hidden fees of any hosting provider. I have used many hosting providers in my career, but none of them changed anything extra apart from the subscription fees. Thats it.

Huh?

If your provider is requiring you to pay for a password reset, you're simply using the wrong provider. That's not a 'hidden fee', that's just insanity

Transferring services, I get. That should be an easy task, but isn't always, and usually involves some sort of man hour work. Sorry, not sorry, but you gotta pay for that.

Backup features? Yeah, I get that too. Storage isn't free. if your data is important to you, you'll back it up correctly :)

Initial domain registration is often cheap (sometimes free for the first year), but renewal costs are higher. Always read the fine print, calculate long-term costs, and consider bundled plans that include essentials like SSL, backups, and email hosting.

Hi

I've heard that some providers are asking for money for almost everything, and it's terrible. I recently saw a very interesting thing, namely that one of the providers is asking for money for data transfer. That is, you use hosting and keep the data there, but you only have the opportunity to change the site and do not have full access to the server, and when you decide it's time to switch to another provider, they ask for money to send you an archive with the data. That's what I mean by horror.
