Testimonials, a reality or a (fake information) strategy ?

We had the people record them with digital video cameras we sent them... let them keep the camera as a thank you (small price to pay).

to me that is bribery, you send clients a camera for them to give a testimonial and then they can keep the camera.

The main problem with testimonials is that businesses will not post anything negative.

i see the opposite if you search forums and review sites, more people/business will leave negative comments/reviews when they have bad experience with a host rather than go and leave positive comments/reviews of a good host

have fun!

Good to see this worked out for you, might have been better to create a little competition though among your clients - send in a video testimonial, upload to YouTube or some other service and tweet you the link and a random winner would be chosen.

That way you have the testimonials going out, the tweets (exposure) & it would be a lot less expensive.
