Static IP Addresses

Normally, with shared ips you cannot see Blacklist problem, because webhost already take care of it on priority basis.

True, But

while they give you a dedicated IP for your website that sometimes is not the case for mail as the default for cpanel lets say is the server IP for mail - so the persons with a dedicated IP might still be sending out mail from the shared IP< thus the potential of getting blacklisted is still there

Absolutely right. I know with HostGator, even if you have a dedicated IP on a shared account, email is sent from a shared IP.

Correct, if you are using a Shared IP address, it might be possible that the IP is Blacklisted due to someone who is using the same IP address. Hence, it is always better to consider a Dedicated IP address for your website. And yes, it is definitely very difficult to get an IP address out of the Blacklist.

yes, I second carlowen:agree: It's very difficult to run away from IP blacklisting, alternately very time consuming and irritating:devil:.

I agree too, there is great risk while using the Shared IP, you will have to pay what you haven't done. Having Dedicated IP would be a better choice for the SSL

As many people have said static IP address are needed for the addition of SSL certs. If you are running a hosting company or other ecommerce company your going to need to have an SSL protecting your ordering systems, which is where getting a static IP comes in.
