We currently use a combination of HDD's and SSD (for caching)
We are currently setting up SSD only Servers as the price has come down allot.
Especially on Shared servers you will get very slight changes in performance

Our <snipped> test data shows, that SSD disks are 15 times faster than regular SAS or SATA hard drives.
There is no point in not using SSD altogether actually. It improves performance in many terms and reduces administrative time needed for server management in the process.
And end users get better performance, too if you do not overload your server. i'd say it's a win win combination for decent hosts.
I think the way you deploy your server and of course not over loading any server will guarantee good performance for your clients.
