Seagate or WD

I've had great results with both brands. It's like choosing between Coke or Pepsi. Both are delicious, but it's a matter of personal preference.

Honestly, WD has recently discouraged me as far as reliability. So far in the past month I have burned two BRAND NEW WD drives. Sure, it's a piece of hardware that can fail at any time, but this soon?

I have always bought Western Digital, they have been very great to me especially during warranty.

I cannot fault them or complain.

We have never used anyone besides Western Digital.

Always a great price and performance.

End of the day though - all the drive manufacturers make them as good as each other. I've never had a problem dealing with Western Digital. So if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Both companies are very well respected , they both have high quality products and if they have similar or equal products then all comes down to price (at least that's what I used to do all the time). But recently there have complaints against Seagate drives of dodgy firmware, bricked drives, and massive data loss.
Moreover after Western Digital RE4-GP, the first Enterprise class drive with Dual-core, 64MB cache and intelligent spin-management technology why go for Seagate?

Regards

Aditya
