Nothing fancy here...

Acer Aspire 5720z
Pentium Mobile Dual T2330 @ 1.60GHz
3GB DDR 2
Intel Extreme 967 Graphics
RealTech ALC268 Audio
SATA HDD (160GB Toshiba MK1646GSX)
Dual Boot WinXP Pro SP3/OpenArtistLinux
200GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM - (USB external cased drive)
Storage and backup.

Did have a 2nd monitor attached, however passed it to daughter when she had a monitor failure.

I just got a Gate Way Laptop with the following;

Intel Pentium
3GB DDR2 1.73Mhz RAM
500G SATA Seagate
Windows Vista 32 Bit

Seeing as this topic was brought up, thought I might update my post :) ordered an Alienware Aurora ALX Desktop that should arrive this week or the next.

Specs are:

  • Processor : Intel Core I7 Extreme Processor 975(3.33GHz, 6.4GT/s,8MB) Overclocked Lvl 1
  • Memory : 12GB 1333MHz Tri Channel Memory
  • Hard Drive : 2TB (2x1TB) Serial ATA Raid 0 "Stripe" (7200RPM) Dual HDD
  • Graphics : 1.8GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX295 Graphics Card
  • Network card : Killer? Xeno? Pro Network card
  • Operating System : English Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate (64 BIT)
  • With a Dell 23.5” Dual-touch HD monitor with Dual microphones and a camera with facial recognition software licensing :)

Set me back little over £3.5k :) compared to the laptop for which they asked £4.5k for about half the above spec (logical choice)

Dell Studio 17 Laptop - works wonders.

Intel Dual Core 2.4 Ghz
4 GB DDR2
500 GB 7200 RPM SATA Drive (Custom install)
And of course nothing beats my integrated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 video card with go fast NOS, K&N Filter and Greddy Turbo Charger Stickers which increase output by 120 Horsepower.

Time to buy a desktop....

would like to see a picture off your setup.

I got Dell inspiron e1505 laptop
window xp SP2
Intel Centrino Duo(2.0GHZ)
1gb of RAM
256MB ATI 9400
80gb Hard drive

Ditto. who in the world would need TWO Quadro FX 5800's?

Unless you are doing extremely advanced medical work, or rendering massive 3D or CAD...they are totally worthless and ridiculously expensive. What in the world would you use those for ? No offense that just seems like an unwieldy beast.
