Poor Customer Service

Bad Hosting Companies

I think as consumers we should warn each other about bad webhosting companies. The top of my list is Webhostasp.com. They claim the free 30 day trial period but the server doesn’t work properly. When you ask webhostasp.com they will give you useless advice to make time pass and after the 30 days, they will no longer answer your questions. I have asked for a refund since they cannot solve the problem but they will just answer back telling you “No Refunds”. Then they continue to ignore emails. I am in the process to put a complaint to all any anything related companies to Webhostasp.com including their domain registrar, Better Business Bureau, their online merchant. I will list this on all forums possible so that I warn people about this fraudulent company. I have also checked other companies hosted on this server and many are all illegal run websites such as gambling, viagra and junk mail spammers. If I knew this before I would have stayed miles away from this illegal hosting company.

The domain registrar has no power to do anything at all to them, I wouldn't bother emailing the registrar.

What I dislike most of all in the online customers service support is that they answer every question you ask for 5-10 mniutes9sometimes even more). I had such experience with one small hosting company and this really irritated me.

Yes customer service is the one where we loss our intrest in perticular company its really make us to think more while chossing any perticular thing now iam happy with it by chossing ************.

Customer service is definitely the most important aspect of running a successful business. Be it a hosting business or otherwise. If you don't keep your customers satisfied then they will not hang around for long. It is way too easy to just move on until you do find a host to cater to your needs.

Personally I would be quite happy to pay a little extra if I knew it would be going to finance the support staff. I have had many bad experiences a long time ago with hosts who provide bad support. There is nothing worse than rude support staff who who provide it hours after you requested it.

There are 2 factors to why a person chooses and stays with a hosting company.

1. Did they get or do they have what the person needs?
2. What is there Customer like and how was i treated?

A lot of the new hosting companies are started because of a lesson learn in either working at a company that promise alot and gave little . Or a company is start because some feels they can do better! If you are in this business long enough, you will be treated bad at one point or another.

I left my first two hosting companies (Startlogic and OneandOne) because of their terrible customer support. The startlogic support team punted me around for almost three weeks with an issue I had with a domain I purchased through them, until I finally gave up and just left. OneandOne was even worse, although in retrospect I didn't do my research, and if I had I would have found out immediately that OneandOne has many bad reviews all over the web. Now, the main reason I stay with the host I'm at is that they have good customer service and always get back to me promptly, and have always been able to fix any problems I have had.

I wrote all about my two terrible customer experiences on my blog, if anyone is curious for the details.

Some company offer very cheap hosting package, but serive very lousy, if you think that the service is not important, then you can try out.

If needed the support and respond to you in a short time, then you have to choose the hosting company carefully...

Most big hosting companies hire cheap support staff from India nowadays. They also have a core support team at their headquarters. So this is generally what happens;

1. You have a real problem and you need support
2. You call the support line
3. You are redirected to India (but you don't know that)
4. The support guy in India knows nothing about hosting business. Starts asking you questions from his written instructions.
5. Minutes pass, he finally realises that you have a real problem and tells you that you'll be contacted soon.
6. He opens a support ticket to the core support team.
7. You get an email from the core support team either to tell you that your problem is solved or to tell you what to do to solve your problem.

Save your money and care about good online support instead. Time is money.

I have had evil reps in the past well before I got into hosting myself to the point of running a business though no story really stands out for me, I will have to think about this one a tad. Lately I just deal with a current ISP that I am thinking about changing to another, and that keeps me busy with rude reps now. :D

Customer support is really the essence of hosting now a days, its really like the cherry on top.
Good hosting companies generally have hosting crew that looks after their customers queries efficiently and effictively.
my hosting company provider me with generally good support.

Customer service is the key to a good hosting company.

I think that you need to be able to have telephone contact with the company and get rapid response on help desk tickets.

The whole idea of hosting in my opinion is to build a happy community of content clients, not a quick buck!

To all those 'quick buck unreliable hosts' out there - what goes around comes around! Anyone agree?

Bad service actually made me start hosting my own sites. Then before I knew it I was hosting as a business. Worked out great for me.
