Paypal: are they still the only way to go?

Hey,

The market is very weak, look at eGold, they've just been fined for money laundering so people are sticking with the well known PayPal. We stopped using PayPal for payments a few months back because fraud is just too high and PayPal string along with the people paying the money.

Another reason people choose certain processors is fees, we've seen a rapid growth in the industry with Google Checkout also as it's safe, secure, fee's aren't too high and fraud is low.

more options

There are many options besides Paypal.

Authorize.net for one solution for credit card processing. Directly to your account. No bull in between like Paypal does sometimes.

2CO is okay, but I've heard of times where accounts where closed for no reason.

Paypal is still popular but I think many people are starting to move to other payment methods such as Alertpay because of Paypal's strict security policies. They freeze many accounts due to chargebacks and their support at resolving chargeback cases takes forever to reply.

I have always been very happy with Paypal. I've used it for buying and selling on ebay as well as getting paid for paid surveys and a part time job I have as a website reviewer. It just seems to me that being able to get paid right to a debit card is the handiest thing. I can use that debit card just like a credit card or my bank ATM card at about any business imaginable. I really wouldn't want to be without my Paypal account.

I've use Paypal a lot these days. But Google Checkout is becoming more popular and fraud is very low on there, unlike Paypal. There are a bunch of other companies like Paypal trying to come up but most of them are pretty much unknown. So I say either go with Paypal if you just want to buy stuff and sell stuff. But it's also good to provide Google Checkout to buy or sell because it's becoming more popular among websites.

Yup, the Paypal debit card is extremely convenient. I have my bank account hooked up to Paypal so I can use the 1% money back which my bank card doesn't have. In my opinion, the paypal debit card is basically a bank card but with a 1% money back feature.

But there are more and more payment processors out there and paypal's dominance has to end. Actually webmasters hate paypal, because they are highly buyer biased. and non-effective dispute system.

take escrow for example. All transactions are screened through their department to ensure 0% fraud. Paypal has to learn a lot.

As a buyer I would certainly put my trust in them. For buyers Paypal has an image of trust.

As someone who has a business account with them. Who has lost income & clients because of them freezing my account when it suits them, I would say the other side of the coin is a very dark one indeed.
