Exactly. I have always gone with managed servers, even though I know my way around a server, especially when I am only 1 man, so I know if I need help I have it available, but I have had cases where a provider has informed me of an issue before I have noticed this myself.I would always say to opt for managed. As a provider, all of the managed VPSs are plumbed into the alerting system and we can foresee trends and avoid issues. i.e. inform customers they need to increase disk-space or add memory etc before resources are all exhausted. This is not always taken kindly by the end user, but then you can't force them to upgrade, even when they should.
