That's not true at all...

You have full control over your VPS when using both managed or unmanaged products.

Actually and hopefully, it is true. When I manage someone else's server they are denied administrator log in (and rdp if they do not need rds)

I have a few Managed VPS from different providers and most of them i have 100% control of the server.
I only take managed servers as i stated earlier they run cheaper than hiring a system admin if you ever need any assistance
