Good morning,
I've been reading some of the sponsorship requests here and I must say that I am amazed how some people get their sponsorship deal even though they currently have little/nothing to offer except for a banner on their recently launched website (and thus on a website with a low unique hits number).
But at the same time I am pleased by this as I am also one of these people who currently have little to offer but still like to be sponsored.
Let me first tell you a bit about me,
I have (as many people with requests on these boards) an online gaming team that plays games in an competitive manner. This team exsist since 2002 and although this is not a long time for professional companies this actually is a pretty long time for a gaming team. We've had several other sponsors in the past like www.classweb.nl and www.unicenter.nl but two months ago I decided to put an end to my 'career' as a gaming team manager and put more time into other things. Everything was cool untill recently when an old team member contacted me and requested if I wanted to restart the team together with him and start all over again. I didn't have to think long about this since I already missed the managing aspects of my old hobby and thus we restarted the team.
All we have right now are two dedicated managers, a team player who is already on the lookout for skilled gamers to join up with us and a webpage that an ex team mate and myself build about a year ago. You can view the 'preview' on www.exhale-gaming.tk or you can view my work in progress (as I am still re-writing some code and adding new things) on http://84.30.130.64/ (but only when I have my home-webserver running).
Now as for the sponsoring, Since we recently restarted with nothing but a fresh management we cannot offer you a nice 'unique visitor' number. I could tell you that before we made a fresh start our team was pretty well known in the gaming scene (mainly in the netherlands) but obviously I cannot prove things like this. What I can tell you is that before the fresh start we've had an interview with a well known gaming magazine called 'PC-Zone' (english site: http://www.pczone.co.uk/ and dutch site: http://www.pczone.nl/) (here are the scans of the article but it's in dutch: http://84.30.130.64/Scan0001.jpg & http://84.30.130.64/Scan0001.jpg) and that we participated in a well known benelux tournament called "Best of Benelux" (www.bestofbenelux.nl) and that we visited dutch lans like 'campzone' (www.campzone.nl) and 'netgamez' (www.netgamez.nl).
I know that any company willing to make a sponsorshipdeal is taking a risk because of the low unique hits per month as of now but I can garuantee you that the management will do anything in it's power to bring as much attention to the sponsor as possible. For example: Banner on the site, naming the sponsor in possible upcoming interviews, letting people know who our sponsor is on LAN meetings, etc.
Finally about our needs:
We are currently in need of eighter a webhost, a gamehost or a dedicated box to host both on. Obviously a dedicated box would be a bigger risk for the sponsor then a webhost/gamehost but we can always begin with webhosting and if you are satisfied we can switch to a more advanced sponsorshipdeal and possibly wear T-Shirts with the sponsor name on when we attend future LAN's.
Things that we need for webhosting:
- 100mb webstorage
- 5gb bandwidth
- control panel
- a few MySql databases
- php support
- FTP access
- .nl domain name (or .net if .nl can't be provided)
- pop3 email
Things that we need for gamehosting:
- Counter Strike Source 12 player private and/or x player public server.
