Live Help? What do you use??

Well we just purchased a Live Help system from livehelp.stardevelop.com the interface is great, and really nice looking. We just ran into some live traffic issues, and end client issues. But the company is real good about answering emails, and has offered to look at the situation on our server :-D

But what is everyone else using? How do you like it? What kind of bugs did you find that could hurt your business?

We use ClickChatSold.

We have tried the php scripts, etc....but for us nothing compares to CCS. The scripts (php, Perl, etc) seem to run cheaply after using something like CCS.

I remember when CCS was FREE! :-O And I also remember them changing over to a paid service, I did like there program. I don't see a need in a monthly service, I would rather just buy it out and place it on my own site, since we don't use ours that often yet.

What else is used?

I use Help Center Live. I am not the biggest fan, but it's okay for now. Some people complain that they can't see what we type back to them. Must be some type of bug that the developers won't look into because they blame it on the computer. I used it when I first started because it was free, and I've been too lazy to switch to something else, but I have been looking.

If CCS came out with a one time fee, I wonder what kind of customers they would get. Do they offer a windows app yet for the staff area? So you aren't running in a browser?

Well, back to my first post, they fixed the errors in one day! I was impressed! Now we are happy with the chat program! Its real nice, should look into it, it has the feel of MSN ;-)

LivePerson is just too expensive for the average hosting company. ClickChatSold can be too but the ROI on it is quite justified if you use it correctly on your website.

We run it for our own network of sites as well as our resellers'...

Harvey, thanks for the info! I created an account just now and am going to see how well this works out. Niyogi is correct, LivePerson is VERY expensive and our ROI was not enough to cover the monthly charges.

Best,

phpLive :: Highly Recommend!

Exon :: If you are looking for cheap look at BoldChat however we found phpLive has all the features and is priced reasonably.

I use the same concept as SupremeServer, except that I do have problems with the Java applications, due to some older browsers not supporting it. When I find (or write) and auto-refresh PHP script that intergrates with IRC, I will use that instead, but generally its pretty good!

I recently bought the new Cerberus LiveHelp and it is truly excellent. I like that the admin/chat client is on my local machine and minimizes to the system tray so that it's out of the way when not being used. And I love the reports and graphs. It's light years above anything else that I have used.

When using Chat applet with IRC, customers can chat each other ?

That is some one else can send offers to your clients through your support system.

You can obviously limit what can and cant happen through your Applet. IRC is just a cheap and efficient medium for hosting your support center.

I would definately love for someone to clue me in on how it works, or explain in detail how to do this.

We currently use CCS, and it's great, but if we could test the IRC alternative, and it works great, then shoot....why not cut some overhead if you can.
