Is Narnia going to be another Harry Potter?

I read an article that Disney has 6 more movies in the works and is waiting to make the move if this movie is VERY successful.

Any of you have plans of seeing it? If you have already seen it would you like to see sequels?
 
Have seen it and thought it was very well done. I would probably see the sequels.

The only comparison that I think can be made between this and Harry Potter is that they will both be wildly popular. However, the source material is in a completely different league - no offense intended but C.S. Lewis is an esteemed literary and theological scholar to which most modern writers could even come close to comparing.

Found this, when looking for a good example of the deeply theological theme of all things Narnia (funny enough, I expected more of a Lord of the Rings epic film comparison and found out that Tolkien was a strong criticizer of the Chronicles of Narnia - especially The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe):

Although Lewis wrote the Chronicles of Narnia with children in mind, he also wanted the stories to appeal to adults and to convey a larger message. Thus the story of Narnia can be read and enjoyed on another level, as the story of Christianity as it is told in the Bible. Aslan the lion represents Jesus Christ, who died as a sacrifice to God for the sins of all people and then came back to life before ascending into heaven.

In 1954 Lewis explained it this way in a letter to some Maryland 5th graders: "I said, 'Let us suppose that there were a land like Narnia and that [Jesus], as he became a Man in our world, became a Lion there, and then imagine what would happen.'"

Interesting.. I just saw the movie last night with my kids and I have to agree that looking at it with that light it does give a different meaning to the movie.

which movie are we talking about sorry it might be stating sumat obvious but i couldn't see it sorry if its a stupid question?? :o
