Industry Deprecation of 3-year SSL certificates

Not sure if this is posted somewhere else.

You will no longer be able to order a 3-year certificate after February 20, 2018. This is an industry-wide change required of all Certificate Authorities. If you currently have a certificate that is valid for 3-years or more, it will continue to work as intended for the remainder of the certificate’s term, and no action is required.

ugh, AGAIN with this crap?!?!?!?!?!?!?

They did this to us a few years ago, with 5 years, now 3 years are going away... ENOUGH. There's literally absolutely no reason for these to be suddenly disappearing... None

All these started to happen after this CA/B forum appeared on the scene, the same with Google and Firefox marking HTTP sites as unsecure.

Still, really no reason to make this change. I mean, seriously. next it's going to be that everyone's stuck with one year certs

According CA/Browser Forum guideline, deprecation of 3 years certificate help to stay away from presence of outdated and possibly vulnerable certificates and keep implementations of SSL security up to date.
