How to start a webhosting and domain registration company

HG and a lot of other hosts have a how to get your first 1000 clients handout, it's not bad but not perfect. I still have my reseller account but only because I have not put much time into it. If you have time to put it, you can rock it pretty quick. I am at the top reseller plan with HG now and am about to either colo a server I already have (1U so not sure if it is worth it), or get a dedicated one. Good luck!

To run a web hosting business you need knowledge of servers and control panels and lots of other things.

If you don't know how to manage a server then I recommend you learn on a cheap vps server before starting your business.

Either that or hire someone that does have knowledge of running servers.

It's not a get rich quick scheme and takes lots of patience before you really start earning a decent income.

We're almost 7 months in business and things are finally starting to look good on the income side of things.

Remember the saying. Slow and steady wins the race.

not really, best start on a reseller account and build a reputation and clientbase, then get a managed VPS server, so you can learn but still have the managed support.

I still have managed servers, even though I know my way round a server, but for the extra cost compared to hiring a system admin if you need assistance it works out cheaper
