How to improve my business?

WHMCS is great for the type of described business.
And don't waste time finding a "cheaper" solution, as at the end it won't be cheaper.

Good and stable software will help you to improve finance, so you don't have to worry about license costs.

But at the end of the day, you have to give money to make some money :)
 
For $40 a month, I would make my current system work. A company like you describe can scale (to you and your partner's ability to keep up). On some of the outsourcing job boards, you could hire two people to do your work and you had twics as much work, would it be financially feasible?

If you can only work with your mate, then I am sure there are invoicing programs out there that do what you need. Asana is a good program but maybe not exactly what you need. Keep looking, you will find something.

Finally, it sounds like you may be a little burned-out, otherwise; these emails would be moving. That is why I suggested some outsourced help. Forgive me if my assumption is way off base.
