Well, it might depend on many factors. Did you consider your content? For example, if you are placing something new on yoru website - it's logical that more people will come to your website to check it out. What about advertsiing? Maybe certain ads show up at the time you receive more visitors? However, the biggest suggestion is to work on SEO optimization. If you do it right - you will start generating more traffic constantly.
 
Try to get listed on DMOZ and get active on forums so you can add your link in your signature. We get about 200 visits a month from signature links. Make sure to do forums that match your site category as well.
 
I would make sure you have a good sitemap and that it gets updated at least once a week. If you are adding content daily the rebuild the sitemap daily. I found that a section we have on our site gets multiple google bots on it every day but we have a lot of new things added daily.
