Hello! I've created a web hosting company with my team, and we are looking for some customers. We paid facebook for ads but nothing happened. We are posting on forums to advertise our hosting company, but again nothing happens.

Can you suggest me a good way to advertise our website?
Thank you very much

It takes time my friend, build a presence, gain reviews - Even offer free trial services to some people to build up a reputation and don't use adwords, it is expensive.

Post some adverts on forums.

I agree. It takes time. Forums and free advertising is your friend. We are new to HD here but have been using other forums successfully for 4 years now. But when we started it took time.

Go to your local businesses. If you have the time, offer to help them build a basic business-card website for free if they were to sign up with you. Not only will you develop a strong relationship, if you do a good job, they might come to you for additional services and maintenance of their website, which might be your secondary income.

At the end of the day, word of mouth is going to be your best sales driver. But in order to get there, you need to hustle. Why not re-target your Facebook ads to your immediate local market with that kind of promotion/promise and see how it does. Although I don't have much confidence in Facebook at all when it comes to web hosting sales.

Do SEO of website, write awesome blogs, to build backlinks list website is directories, participation in forums etc.

Best of Luck. :)

Try out some articles and reviews in good and high authority websites. Also you can post your offers in forums like WHT to gain traffic and get sigups.

Attempt to target niche markets with SEO, for example specific keywords - relying to an Operating System (Linux / Windows) + something like 'Cheap/High Availability/1GBps/DDOS Protected/Other relevant keyword' as they are easier to rank up on search engines.

As mentioned in the thread, articles are also a very good way to increase your SEO, with unique content and relevant information.

Make sure you get familiar with all relevant forums, and build a good profile.

Some forums that may be relevant:

Cheap Offers - Lowendtalk
General Offers - WHT Forums, HostingDiscussion, for VPS - VPSBoard.
Gaming forums - Minecraft, RSPS, etc.

Other good methods of getting traffic would also be reviews as mentioned.

Another good way to attract clients is to offer functionality that competitors don't have, this may include things like utilizing Cloud Platforms to offer High Availability, Platform as a Service, Hourly Billing.

Hourly Billing is useful in itself as it allows customers to test out VM's without losing much credit, for example to test performance, network, compatibility - etc.

One of the most effective tools for promoting web businesses that I have run in the past has always been creating your own opt-in email list. It takes time, but it is well worth the effort in my opinion.

Could you tell us a little more details about how you went about it technically speaking. How did you collect the emails, what software did you use to process mailings? Were these leads collected out of existing clients or prospective clients as well (those that ask a sales question, for example)?

Email really works? Usually I hate anyone who sends me email but obviously opt in is different - Interesting to learn more.

From my own experience, adwords was and still is the one advertising method which definitely pays off.

Haven't got much traffic from Facebook. (Budget wasn't as big as for Google Ads)

Well his site is down, maybe another 12 year old that wanted to make quick money...

anyway it might help other people so there are several ways to attract:

Ad's - it can be google ad's, facebook, bing and etc. for this high amount of money is required to gain customers.

Forums- Free advertising, won't get fast results but it's a good start for a new business.

local marketing - great way to start a business, a tip from me if you succeed in local they will be your main customers and they will also bring you more customers.

SEO - great way to get customers but needs alot of money to do so.

getting customers is easy, put up a website and put some facebooks ads, because that is where all the customers will come from, and you will be the next godaddy or hostgator .. no work effort required at all ...... LMAO ....

the site is down, it is hard to get customers, its typically a rough first 2 years, maybe 3. I have been at this for 13 - 14 years, my plan was never to be a giant, but was to find my niche and they grow steady. slow and steady ... our niche became the fully managed VPS, CLOUD, Dedicated market where we really get to know our customers. we keep in touch with them on a regular basis.

we get or have gotten a lot of our customers through old fashion, mail drops of post cards, attending local small trade shows, etc and send out an email to our existing customers and make sure they stay happy.

Hey Only Writing blogs, forum participation you can not build a brand promotion, you should try to create a unique idea like create your business videos share on social media, create a social media contest, promote your business banner on business listing sites etc.

Thank you

Firstly, you got to make your advertisement look attractive. If you pay a sum of money but your ads don't look "pretty" enough, customers will not be bothered to even glance at it. Facebook is relatively a good social platform to advertise, why not try posting on forums like this? The more the merrier. OR as what people had mentioned above, word of mouth through your existing customer. That is the most effective way to grab hold of more customers.

Concur with Artashes as going local is the way to jump start your business, BUT it seems since your site is offline right now, maybe the test failed.

never had much luck with facebook or adwords to attract customers.

I find what works for me is about twice a year i will run a special promotion on ebay which attracts customers and i have enough anti fraud and security systems in place to weed out any fraud orders.

Yeap. Is website is off. Many people think this is a get quick rich business and have no idea how much energy is necessary 24X7 to be successful. Hope he get better luck in another industry

I personally have had a lot of luck just using social media venues for promotion but I as update my site frequently with how to's and articles. I am thinking about trying some YouTube videos as well.
