How often do you monitor your server(s)

As the title says How often do you monitor your server(s) ?

What do you mean by monitor.. bandwidth? uptime? online?

Constantly. We have services like "Alerta" monatoring our servers.

But you dont monitor them yourselves personally?

I do, ssh in and do "top" command,

Every couple of hours and I have alertra also but that is ran once per hour.

I'd say it is very important to monitor servers as often throughout the day as you can.

I know my host spends a lot of time doing this, and has set up some kind of system so even when he is away anything out of the ordinary is text messages to him on his mobile which is pretty cool...

I've gotta lil script that not only monitors but maps them - lets me know what's going on

I monitor mines at least 4 hrs an day it is well managed so the worst that can go wrong is an hd failure or apache over load.

you need to monitor it by a software or some thing like Alerta also check it every few hours, I do so

I use my providers monitoring, if my server goes down, they know and reboot the server

That is quite smart. I would be careful if yo have some sort of uptime policy though.
