High bandwidth low budget

What if by some ironic coincidence ALL customers suddenly need it? To top it, let's imagine this would happen on a consistent basis? A host would go out of business.
Yes, that's true. However, considering that most of the hosts out there oversell, that's the situation of most hosts.

Also, what if all the servers in a datacenter would suddenly start using all the allotted bandwidth on a consistent basis? The datacenter would go out of business (or increase the prices as soon as possible).

Now, sure, certain levels of overselling make no sense. They're pure madness and the one losing will always be the customer (for as long as the hosts will use a "resources abuse").

Sorry but your post is offensive for hosts that work hard to provide quality service. On wich planet do you live? What's the point? How do you expect to get 200 GB for $10?

Well, as a slightly lighter (jovial) addition to this thread....wouldn't the same thing occur if someone started walking around data centers with HERF (electro magentic) guns? Those are nice enough to shut off all electronic devices almost as well as a nuclear explosion (without the mass carnage).

Since the comptuers and routers would go down --- just immagine all the capacity lying around in that dark fiber....mmmm.....

Which brings to mind another quick thought: Do any of you ever wonder (like I do) why the Fiber lines for universities are just so hard to splice into and leech off of? :agree:

I thought he was hoping for that much bandwidth through a 0.00000001 bit per second connection.

*resists urge to use another smily icon*

Just in case 60host was referring to my post, I will state that I do not think $10 for 200Gb is a sustainable price for a host. I never said it was, but I apologise if I offended anyone by not making that more clear.
