Well we run new year promos throughout Jan. So I would imagine saying Happy New Year is fine as well.
Like I said though, out of common courtesy, if someone says it to you, say it back heh.
lol I had no idea we were on the same concept there. You go with it though, I learned my lesson with inventions, at least personally.
I created a magic trick back when I was in highschool. I sent the whole plans, deck of cards, etc to myself, for the poor man's copyright. I then sent 20 decks over to the local magic shop, who said it sold off the shelf when they presented it to customers. It wasn't long after that, I went down there to find the same trick, listed under the shop owner's name as the creator...bleh.
