Google is now a domain registrar!

old news :) good news for them!!! Now people will think "My PR will go up if I buy a domain name from Google" now they will be in control of their own names and can make some money off ofthers as well since Google is number one SE
 
Yes, most people will not be interested in domains so they will offer it on a subdomain I would assume. They didn't announce GMail on their home page and just look how fast that grew. :)
 
Eventually i am sure Google will start domain name registration as well.
Something like GName or GDomain or something

They will hit the hosting market and knock out several competitors with leaps and bounds. Google has three strengths:

1. Huge Following
2. Huge Investment Capital
3. Great Concept to Implementation (Project Planning)

The truth is they are a beast! They can jump into anything and stomp out the competition. I barely use yahoo anymore heh!
 
intresting story someone big as google still trying too spread even more...i think they should share some money with all the webmaster's with high page rank lol wouldnt it be great getting paid for page rank
 
i am sure it will be a BETA. It is fanny taht all of the new services are BETA in google and this BETA versions is very long times...
 
Google has a massive following, Google can enter any technology sector and profitize from it. One thing I have to give credit to google for is the fact that they know the web.
