I was just trying to verify mine and google makes you download a file and put it on your server to be able to verify it. So how is it possible that some one else could have verified your domain?

Yes, I was wondering the same myself.

yes thats what puzzled me as you have to use one of the below

1) HTML file upload
2) HTML tag - Add a meta tag to your site's home page.
3) Google Analytics - Use your Google Analytics account.
4) Domain name provider - Sign in to your domain name provider.

this is when and how

How they were able to verify it is confusing, maybe a bug on Google end at the time (that was a long time ago!) otherwise...

Either way, the fact Google doesn't care is shocking, they should really work with you to get it re-verified under your details.

I must say though the experience I've had with Google support is the opposite. They have been very helpful and very fast - I guess it depends on the service you use and the employees in that service.

yes they should as its clearly a violation of their policies that someone using their email program has attempted to steal control over one of my domains.

I use google apps and have also had a good experience with support.

I would continue to try and contact them.

My primary good experiences was with Google Checkout support, very fast and responsive. I recall once by accident contacted Google Checkout support for another Google product service and they actually went out of their way to find out the answer and inform me where I can contact the right team for that particular product / service.

did what google suggest and that is contact wizzwe3@gmail.com through my yahoo email, asking them what are they playing at and as i guessed they have not replied, which if they are outright fraudsters they wont ever reply. strange they just targeted my main domain and left all the others verified in my google account.

What are the advantages of verifying a website through Google webmaster tools in the first place?

That is odd, but it does seem like you should be able to change your password and change the verified owner information. If that person could, you should be able to.
