Google Adwords: Cheap Traffic?

We use Google Adwords quite effectively (I would say), getting a conversion about every 100-200 clicks or so. I guess it depends on your tactics and how you target your ads.

I also believe using Google AdWords is a very smart move but as agreed by other posters, you should have clear objectives in mind, forget about using global terms and finding customers who may not have heard anything about your new company.

Begin by spending only a few dollars a day and gradually you will gain experience as what terms are searched by the real customers of companies, as you may guess too broad words are better to be forgotten for some time.

I believe it all depends on the keywords used and locations and optimizations you've done to your adwords campaign. Some people make tons of money off of adwords because they target the correct audience and every click seems to be a buyer.

Using Adwords without emptying your wallet can be quite a task. Using the content network and search partners will empty it quickly with little to no ROI.
My thoughts exactly. There's so much competition for KW's that it's quite costly to get your ads near the top for Adwords. And you can't do it cheaply because your Adwords "Quality Score" suffers unless you're receiving some serious click-throughs (which don't occur until your bids are high!).

The content network can work but it takes management. You really have to visit each of the sites that's sending you traffic to see the targeted 'clientele'. There are a lot of garbage 'content' network sites that easily burn through your budget. Best to start with dime or less per click on content network and notch it up over time...
