Godaddy sold.

Well they purchased the debt, which means that godaddy is value at around 5 billion dollars. So if they can capitalize on the situation then there should be no problems at all.

There are always good reasons to keep a company private or make it public. Its not always about the numbers. Think about Smuckers. They are private and roll in billions of dollars in revenue every year. As long as they can manage it and don't need the public's money, it is pretty beneficial to stay private.

All those domains are so valuable and I am very surprised the company was not sold for more money. The only thing I could think of that validated the low price is a lot of outstanding debt or a lot of crap on the books.

i am very interested in keeping tabs on this, although i think they should have purchased the company completely.

Big (mega big) sales like that are usually very precisely calculated. No one is so stupid to spend so many dollars and is not SURE about the success.
However, even if it was calculated by teams of specialists - it may fall. Future is so unpredictable...

I am also interested to see which direction GoDaddy will go in, im hoping that there wont be a downfall, because they are one of the leading domain registrars, and they also offer a many different types of products and services.

For how many clients they do have, in my personal experience, their customer support is pretty good. This does vary from person to person.

Lets see the outcome of the new business owner! Only time will tell.

Their hosting, in my opinion, isn't the greatest, but it's definitely better than others. But they're good at what they do best, registering domains.

Hopefully this buyout will allow them the opportunity to improve their services. From what I experienced with them, is nothing but run around. They should also be a bit more competitive with their domain names, they are quiet expensive.

GoDaddy are awesome at being a domain registrar as for their hosting services I can't say although their SSL certificates are brilliant for the price.
