first time hosting HELP needed

Hello there! I am a new member of this forum. I have started to read some posts and now I am here in this thread reading about suggestions of members here.

It is really a good decision when you will start a website that is not that big, and host it to not that big hosting company.

Big hosting companies has those big hosting clients that I think they might not notice you anymore. (Well that is my idea )

When starting a new site, specially a personal site, consider searching for more web hosting companies that are not that big. Those what we call small medium enterprises.

You should care about stability and good online support IMO. Most big hosting companies hire cheap support staff out of India nowadays and all they do is read their written instructions to you on the phone. Simple FAQs trick. If you're on a stable server you'll hardly need support.
