Facebook

I used to love MySpace. Facebook is ok and its the only Social Networking i use now, so thank god they are not going to charge because FB would not be worth it.
 
Facebook is one of the popular site in social networking..
this will still use you for promoting your site by advertising on it.
 
A lot of pro's and cons to using FB, it might depend on a specific niche you're looking for? or could be cheaper? FB and other social media networks are a good place to get some broad exposure without breaking the bank.

It is very helpful for new product or existing brand to have an platform to communicate with the target audience and explain its side of benefits and i think facebook has that quality to provide that platform which every organization want to promote their product.
 
We have a facebook fanpage setup and we publish specials on the wall of our fanpage. We also have some pictures of the data center and servers up so people can take a look around and get to know us. I have found that a lot of business contacts come to us through facebook, and twitter.

Obviously this isn't every one who uses twitter / facebook.

Personally I use Twitter, great for special offers, and definitely good for any service announcements or outages.

I don't plan on using Facebook for my company. Though I can see it being a deciding factor for some clients.
 
I used Facebook on three occasions so far. I have a mix experience with them.

If you are to advertise some entertainment site, then you can certainly get decent traffic from them. (Cheap too if you do things correctly) But for anything other, I haven't been that lucky.

Never advertised anything hosting related so I don't know how that will work. I don't think it would be that great ..
 
But generally CocoaHost.com have advertise on facebook but seems the conversion is lower and bounce rate rate is higher comapre to google ads.

You really don't! So true.

If they don't start charging for use, FB can be used as free advertising! Many local businesses have begun use FB to promote events and promotions. It works very well for them and I have heard of no adverse effects or punishments that have been laid upon them.

Many of them used fanpages, which changed to "likes", or they used groups.

As a customer at these local businesses it was great for me to see what is going on downtown and to see what events some of my friends are going to :)

At the very least, it is worth a try if you invest some time into it.
