Hehe yeah you are.
But if people want webmail and they want a custom look, with a huge amount of accounts, it would be a lot easier to change the templates in hivemail than other webmail programs (squirrelmail, horde etc) and easier to admin your users.

Its just a good option if you want a powerful email script, it would be better for commercial use than horde (Which is my fav webmail script that I use)
 
my point is why would people want webmail? and what commercial use? why should anybody pay YOU to have an email address? they can get a free one at hotmail... they can actually pay for hosting and have better service that you can ever provide with hivemail for the same or even lower price.

the only point of hivemail is to give your users a nice feat'... that they dont really need.

waste of money if you ask me...
 
my point is why would people want webmail?

Maybe a large commercial company with employees around the world, or working from home.
Webmail would be a good option then, even if they are going to travel, its a good and easy way to get email on the move.

They pay people to host the email accounts on a stable server (Just like they would for a host) and maybe the email host offers something different than you cant get with a normal host.

If they want something with 20 characters and a few numbers they could hehe.
I think getting a personal email address is a lot more professional

If its a large company that has a huge amount of workers that all need email, they will most likely have a server just for email.
I think hivemail isnt that expensive and its a good addition if your using email a lot.
The company can edit the script to their needs and I think its worth it, its not really that expensive if its used a lot

nope, they have their own system. (based on lotus notes) they even have their own web! (dialer just for them...)

come on...

instead of using hivemail go all the way and buy a tiny hosting plan for $2 a month and use a domain with your name.

thats a REAL email...

I fail to see the need to flame HiveMail and other webmail software, I was simply showing others a free option to hivemail.

Yes, I do think they use webmail, no reason they wouldnt.
Robert (turnkey) works for IBM so maybe he can let us know how IBM works for email for their workers ;)
Yes it is true that large companies have their own servers for email, and I also think its true that they use webmail, no reason not to really.
And I dont see why they wouldnt use hivemail or another script for this.
Its not much money to them for a whole email server ;)

I think this script is very useful to a lot of people, and people here have said they would like it.

I think the tread is going a bit off the main point as it isnt really to do with if hivemail is worth its price or if it has good features, not even to do with hivemail hehe

I didn't use IBM as a random example, I know people who work there too. :)

The people I know at least, they use lotus notes. but IBM is a bad example... my bad.

One factor to remember is that the members of HR are experienced internet users. You can target an email servie to the right market(grandmothers, animal lovers, moms, etc) Then use the traffic the mail uses to sell advertisment.

Not a problem, you need to edit Inbox.htm and umm Trash.htm in the templates folder, your need to change 5 words.. Markitere -> Marked, Something change to Delete, something to move and Nach to "to" I think.. They are not translated with the language files..
