EIG Buys Directi - ResellerClub

They're not stopping. With the HG acquisition I thought they would take a break on large acquisitions, especially as they are reportedly building a custom Dallas DC for HG and just the size of HG / the buy-out.

Now, ResellerClub, LogicBoxes platform and more are under EIG.

Noooo Google Sites is free, not in EIG's best interest :).

Its a free search engine, but how much does Google make in with adsense etc. and other adverts. Google would not be available if they did not make money.

also will EIG be chasing Facebook and Twitter.

I doubt it, they seem to only be interested in the domain name/web hosting market so far. Plus, I honestly don't think they could afford to fork out the many billions it would take to acquire facebook and/or twitter.. EIG is big, but not that big.

I think this is a pretty smart move. Cut the competition and gain the profits. Soon or later this would become a trend in the hosting industry. The best example is Media Temple, which is recently acquired by Godaddy. These kinds of acquisitions, we will see in the future time by time.

It's not a surprise for the purchase as long as it's good deal for both sides, I'm sure we'll hear more about such event in near future.

I don't think it's a good idea considering Host Gator is going downhill.

It is not the fact HG are going downhill, infact they are upgrading their facilities. What is the issue with all EIG brands is their support network is the thing that is going downhill.

Hopefully the RC support team can teach EIG how to deal with support.

Oh I know they put advertising in the Search Engines etc (How else would they make the billions they do :P).

But I meant their hosting division 'Google Sites' is free and so would not be in EIGs best interest (I think).

With the amount of territory that EIG has snatched up I am genuinely surprised that I am still able to get sales.

I don't really like it when I see friends or potential clients brainwashed in to believing that EIG or one of it's cadre of "brands" are the best thing since sliced bread.

It the demise of the shared hosting industry comes at the hands of EIG it will be a dark day. I definitely enjoy working in this business but if they drive me out of business I won't be happy... not one bit.

Its a wonder we are all not being bombarded by their acquisition team with offers to buy us all out.

Theory: It could be that they think that we will end up "killing" eachother.

Think The Hunger Games for smaller hosting providers. They might be counting on us acquiring one another and then the last man standing would be the one they'd buy. This method could possibly save them money.

Oh and... HI EIG EXECS.... You are never going to catch me... hahaha :D

Well I assume they like acquisitions where they buy out but already have the management, support staff etc in place.

A one man band with so little revenue is probably not their acquisition criteria :).

I would love to see an EIG brand go from 0 to their average size, seems they can only do it by acquiring and then pushing what they already have.

I want to know when are they going to buy the internet... I am surprised they haven't purchased other companies but am glad they haven't as well their service is appauling. I have a few friends that have used their service and I went to help with their site design and everytime I would go to update something the service was down.

I believe they will not stop acquisition. Since they recently took over DirectI, I believe they will wait for next few months. But the question is who will be next one ???

I doubt good or Microsoft will be on the chopping blocks. Both of those companies make a lot of money. Google's number one income is its search engine next to YouTube. Microsoft biggest income is its windows software and Xbox consoles.

Neither of those companies would ever dream of selling to EIG. Plus, Google is doing the same thing as EIG and buying a ton of companies let and right.
