Do you utilize social networks?

Facebook and Twitter definitely have potential for generating a lot of traffic, but I'll be honest...I hate Twitter. It works well to get your company out there, but I don't see much point in it for personal use! Who cares what everyone is doing/thinking every second.

Here's information from Facebook on getting the most from Facebook pages and public profiles.

The first thing I did was create a FB page and Twitter account for my new hosting business. I already had several hundred following me on my personal Twitter account. So I've been using that to spread the word about my hosting business.

I have used LinkedIn to find many old contacts. There are upgrade accounts available that help you connect or re-connect with people.

Twitter is a must, if only for the accountability angle. It's a terrific avenue for feedback and a great thermometer for public perception of your company.

If you aren't using twitter you are at a serious disadvantage to the competition...particularly in the cut throat world of webhosting.
