DirectAdmin

I think you'll get more signups by offering cPanel, but you won't lose anyone by also offering DirectAdmin. Each has it's own following, obviously with cPanel being the larger of the two.
 
Personally I think the only reason why DirectAdmin isn't as popular as cPanel is it looks old. While we've never had a complaint from a client regarding DirectAdmins interface and functionality I can see why many are turned off by it's aesthetics.

DirectAdmin has all the functionality that's needed in a control panel and is very easy to use for the zero day user. The price difference is really not a issue.
 
For new users to hosting they probably wouldn't know the difference. But for me if I signed up with a host now and they didn't offer cpanel, whatever they use must be a very good replacement. From what I'm reading here DA is not a perfect substitute.
