Cpanel Boycott - Can you really trust your cpanel host?

i think Skraps think web hosting forums should be run by candy store owners who have now idea how the web hosting industry works.

If your a good admin at cpanel you get sent to hostgator. If your a good programmer or one of the trusted higher ups with a impeccable background you get sent to cpanel.

So you're saying Hostgator has good cPanel admins and cPanel has good programmers with impeccable backgrounds. And you think that's a bad thing?! Can I ask what host you're affiliated with and what control panel you are using?

Thats not what I said at all. You just twisted it but then again your one of the people who run data centers and support the hosts.

Can I ask what host you're affiliated with and what control panel you are using?

Bourne Again SHell is my control panel atm. I am looking at setting up ISPConfig here shortly.

Please post the evidence here as well, I am too lazy to go to LinkedIn. The evidence that you were banned because of that reason exactly. I want copies of the leaked inside talks by WHT staff! This is better be better than Perez Hilton's stuff. :D

No, I didn't twist it - that was my perception of your words. I turned your words into a positive whereas you turned your words into a negative.

And do you honestly believe being one of the people who run data centers and support the hosts is a bad thing? Read some of my threads here or on other forums, or on my blog at WDTalk, and tell me that what I do is somehow wrong.

It seems to me that you have an ax to grind, and you've taken it to a level that could put you behind bars for years. Is all of this worth that? Your intent was not to warn our community at Hosting Discussion about cPanel or Hostgator. And I for one think Artashes should put an end to your tirade and ban you as well. Of course, that's his call and not mine.

Everyone has a voice to voice their opinion. Of course, there is a fine line between voice an opinion and slander/libel (whatever applies). I am not a lawyer but I doubt it can land him in jail, but a serious fine for damages can certainly be the consequence.

Besides, I would like to first get on HostGator's payroll to get at least some benefit in doing so. :D
 
This guy has been around the hosting forums i participate in with this boycott.

this person has a personal vendetta against Cpanel and a few hosts.

there is bound to be a flaw in any software and some go unpatched for some time because they aren't considered serious.

microsoft knew about a flaw in it's os for over 4 years, so do we switch everyone to linux or mac? NO because it's not practical and the flaw was an insignificant one that had never been exploited in the wild.

Really here is a way to fix that you can use a software like 1h hive which does the chroot thing and your good to go. Stop your whining and move on.

This whole article is funny. I trust cpanel, been using it for 8 years now I believe and I trust it 100%

Like art said, stuff gets hacked, stolen and destroyed all the time on the internet. Make backups, restore and move on. Your crusade has failed so please stop. HD is a awesome forum and I agree with Steve. "Your intent was not to warn our community at Hosting Discussion about cPanel or Hostgator." I believe it was to start trouble. Please stop, chat on other topics, and enjoy the forum.
 
Why would anyone spend this much time bashing cpanel? Definitely makes you wonder.. I know I wish I could have the 5 mins back I just spent reading through this thread :disagree:
